How AroundMe works
AroundMe puts you in a small group of 4-6 verified people who want to do the same thing you do, at a real place, at a set time, this week. No swiping, no browsing profiles, no group chats that never become plans. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.
Joining
Verify a real email, then one short intake, three steps on one screen: what you love doing, which days work (we meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays), and a couple of comfort questions. You never fill out a long profile, and you never update anything on a schedule. Everyone is a verified member, not an anonymous account, and AroundMe is for adults (18+).
Your week
The weekly clock is the whole rhythm. Opt in when you're free; skip when life is full.
The rules that make it work
One invite at a time
While you hold an invite, it’s the only live plan you have. That’s why a yes here actually means something.
Never silence
If we can’t seat you some week, we tell you. The next week you opt in, you’re at the front of the queue: when seats are short, the people we couldn’t seat get them first. You’ll never opt in and hear nothing.
Decline is fine, ghosting isn’t
Cancel anytime, even day-of, with one tap. But confirming and silently not showing leaves a group holding a seat for nobody.
Browse plans, never people
You can see every hotspot in your region. You can never see who’s going. The only people you meet are your own group of 4-6.
After the meetup
Want to see someone again? Tell us privately in the 10-second feedback. When two of you pick each other, we write to you both and offer you the next one together, so nobody has to be the one who asks. The place and the hour stay put every week, and the group is built fresh for it. That is the default and it is deliberate: most first meetups are good company without being a match, and nobody should be stuck with one. If you clicked with one person, you each get the contact the other chose to share, only when it's mutual. One-sided picks are never revealed, to anyone, and no cold messages exist on AroundMe.
Cost and safety
Free.Joining, matching, invites, showing up, all free. Everyone is verified, every venue is public and checked by us, and exact locations are visible only to confirmed members. There's a way to report built into every meetup, and one rule above all: you can leave any meetup, at any time, without explaining anything to anyone. Read the full safety design.
