Delete your account

You can delete your AroundMe account yourself, right now. No form to wait on, no reason required, no “are you sure you don't want to stay” loop.

Do it yourself (about 30 seconds)

  1. Sign in with your email — we send a 6-digit code, no password.
  2. Open “Your account & data” at the bottom of your account page.
  3. Type DELETE and press Delete permanently.

What gets deleted

Everything personal, immediately and permanently: your name, your email address, your phone number if you gave one (including one you were part-way through verifying), your interests and intake answers, your approximate signup region, your weekly opt-ins, and your invites and feedback. This is a real deletion, not a hidden flag — we cannot restore it afterwards, and any link we previously emailed you stops working.

What remains: aggregate counts that identify nobody, such as “22 people attended meetups in week 3” — and, if you ever verified a phone, an anonymous one-way hash of that number used purely to cap how many verification texts can be sent to it. It cannot be turned back into your number, and it exists so that deleting an account cannot be used to reset that limit and text somebody repeatedly.

Can't get in?

If you no longer have access to the email address on the account, write to deven@aroundme.co from any address and tell us which account to delete. We will verify you own it and delete it within 30 days — usually the same day.

Want a copy first? Sign in and use “Download everything we hold on you” before you delete — it is gone afterwards. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
